Leighton Buzzard Rugby Club Tops Competition
You may remember back in September last year when we arranged the ultimate Rugby scrum; fitting as many Rugby players from local Leighton Buzzard Rugby Club into one of our Chevrolet Aveos as possible.
We're delighted to announce that the Bedfordshire based Rugby club have won the national competition, with a record 19 Rugby players (none of whom could be described as small) squeezed into a Chevrolet Aveo together!
Winning £1,500 worth of Equipment
Beating the previous record of 17, Leighton Buzzard RFC have won £1,500 worth of equipment for the club; starting with a brand new kit to replace their old one, which was looking a bit tired after three seasons.
"There aren’t many cars this size that would take an entire rugby team including reserves," explained our own George Viscogliosi (Leighton Buzzard Sales Manager.)
"But the best thing for us is the fact that we were able to put something back into the local community. When we heard about the competition, we’d actually just sold a car to the rugby club’s groundsman, so we approached him and asked if they’d like to take part. I was astonished when we took an Aveo down there and they squeezed 19 of them in there…"
The new shirts, sponsored by Chevrolet and Grovebury Cars, will make their debut in the team's first game of the 2014 season against Olney on Saturday 14th September.
