Kia's Very First All Electric Vehicle
The Kia Soul EV
Kia is the latest car manufacturer to develop a completely green-friendly car by creating the all-new Kia Soul EV.
Kia's Very First Electric Car
Kia's very first all-electric, zero-emission car to be brought to market. Although no official release date has been announced, the Kia Soul EV has been based around the very familiar Kia Soul, but the Soul EV goes one step further with eye-catching two-tone styling, LED daytime running lamps, headlamps and tail lamps.
The Soul EV Can Go The Distance
Despite the Kia Soul EV is an all-electric vehicle the Kia Soul EV still delivers on output and torque. Exceptionally quick for an electric vehicle the Soul EV boasts a top speed of 145 kph. The Soul EV can certainly go the distance as well with a 200 km driving range combined with zero emissions, agile handling, a low centre of gravity and reduced road noise provides for an enjoyable driving experience.
Electric Power and Efficiency
From the very basis of design through to production, ensuring the Kia Soul EV was efficient in every way was at the forefront of Kia's mind. The battery, electric motor, gear reduction unit and Electric Power Control Unit are mounted low to allow for greater handling control and forming part of the rigid body cage protecting the cabin.
Recharge Your Soul
Charging the Kia Soul EV could not be easier, simply slide the cover on the front grill open and attach a normal AC charging cable or a fast DC charging cable to the appropriate port. In tests, the Kia Soul EV was able to recharge in approximately 24 minutes. The cables and ports are built specifically to ensure that you do not connect the wrong one. You are able to see the charge status via the indicator through the windscreen.
Release dates for the Kia Soul EV are yet to be released. Till then this year saw Kia release the all-new Kia Soul.
