Kia Optima Sportspace
Kia's Latest Concept Car
Kia unveils its latest concept car, the Kia Sportspace.
Set to be unveiled at this year's Geneva Motor Show, the Kia Optima Sportspace Concept is a small insight into a possible Kia Optima estate in the future. Its striking appearance takes Kia's design for future models to a whole new level.
The Kia Optima Sportspace Concept features 'ice cube' quad headlights and Kia's tiger-nose grille which makes for a bold appearance. The Optima Sportspace also features a panoramic sunroof and twin pentagon exhausts that sit below a sleek tailgate.
The car is powered by a 250bhp 2.0 litre T-GDI (turbocharged gasoline direction) engine and uses an automatic shift-by-wire transmission with steering wheel paddles.
New Look Interior
Kia describes the interior as "a pure design study with an essence for future." With one-piece leather seats, raised console, rear-view mirror camera, trim finished in gloss leather and silver woven fabric with a brushed aluminium look the Kia Optima Sportspace certainly has a luxury feel to it. The dashboard has an integrated large touchscreen system which features with media, navigation, email, calendar and even social media applications. Passengers in the rear will even be able to plug in their tablet devices into the rear armrest.
Many concept cars never make it to the forecourt but Kia's chief designer for Europe said, "Looking at this car, it’s not the type of show car that looks like it’s not going to make it to a showroom. It looks like a very realistic proposal."
