Chevrolet at the Geneva Motor Show

Electric Spark, Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and Mylink - 83rd Geneva Motorshow has been and gone!

With the Geneva Motorshow just gone, Chevrolet have some exciting information to share!

One of Chevrolet's biggest unveilings at the show was the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, an exciting new coupe to shortly join Chevrolet's wide range of vehicles. The popular Chevrolet Spark is soon to be made available come 2014 to selected European markets. Chevrolet Trax is shortly available too to boast Chevrolet's position in the SUV market, Chevrolet's with MyLink will shortly include Siri integration to ensure eyes are firmly on the road and lastly, Did you know? A Chevrolet is sold every 6.4 seconds!

Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

The Chevrolet Corvette Stringway is a convertible based on the coupe. The Chevrolet Corvette Coupe has been designed to suit a variety of drives ranging from the school run to a lap round Silverstone.

The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray includes:

  • 6.2 Litre engine
  • Seven Speed manual gearbox and a six speed paddle transmission
  • Drive mode selector to tailor 12 attributes to the drivers every need
  • Lightweight materials to keep the performance at it's best
  • The exterior features high-intensity discharge lighting coupled with LED's

Electric Chevrolet Spark

Following the highly successful Fuel powered Spark, Chevrolet has decided to introduce an all electric model which will be sold to selected European market come 2014.

The electronic Chevrolet Spark will produce an impressive 130 horsepower and will do 0-62mph in just under 8.5 seconds.

The Chevrolet Spark's battery pack will be one of few to offer both AC and DC fast charging .

The electric Chevrolet Spark is not without technology either and comes complete with 2 reconfigurable seven-inch screens, one of which will be for Chevrolet's MyLink. A rear view camera will be included to assist with reversing.

Chevrolet Trax is available Spring 2013

The Chevrolet Trax will be available Spring 2013 and is a smaller version of the popular Chevrolet Captiva.

The Chevrolet Captiva Compact SUV has subtle changes to both the front and rear of the vehicle. The rear changes include a new LED tail lam, chrome exhaust tips and a remoulded bumper. The front changes include a lower sports bumper, a new grille and restyled foglamps.

The equipment under the bonnet will comprise of a 140 hp 1.4 litre turbocharged petrol engine, a 1.6L petrol unit as well as a 1.7L diesel engine which produces 130 hp.

All manual transmission variants come with Stop/Start technology. The Chevrolet Trax will be offered in front-wheel-drive (FWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations.

The LT trim of the Trax small SUV will feature the popular Chevrolet MyLink technology as standard.

Chevrolet Eyes Free - MyLink

From March 2013, Chevrolet cars that come complete with MyLink technology will feature Apple's Siri system.

MyLink will work with all iPhones from the iPhone 4S up which are running iOS6.

The Chevrolet MyLink will allow:

  • Voice activated - handsfree calls
  • Play songs from iTunes and switch between radio input sources
  • Listen and compose iMessages and text message
  • Access Calendar and add appointments
  • Siri will not show answers that require looking at the iPhone
