Kia Stonic
Every so often, a car comes along that leaves a lasting impression. The new Kia Stonic does just that with its funky shape, bold stance and striking body. It’s a small SUV with a big personality, keen to be chucked into corners but just as happy to settle down and transport you comfortably, and safely. The 1.0 T-GDi engine is available with a manual or dual-clutch automatic transmission to suit you and will return up to 57.6mpg combined - a seriously impressive figure. Best of all is the kit, with ‘2’ ‘3’ ‘4’ and ‘Mixx’ trim levels offering features like Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, parking sensors, a reversing camera, cruise control, Lane Keeping Assist System and Blind Spot Detection as standard.

Design
The Stonic is a free spirit. With charming good looks, it wins the hearts and minds of everyone who sees it. A people pleaser it is, and boy is it a bit special with 17” alloy wheels and roof rails. ‘4’ models have a very striking two-tone paint scheme.
Drive
Buzzing around has never been more enjoyable. The 1.0 T-GDi engine is powerful and efficient, not to mention quiet at speed. Features like Hill Start Assist, rear parking sensors and cruise control are standard across the range.
Practicality
The boot is wide enough for a pram and boasts a 352-litre load volume, expanding to 1,155-litres if you fold the 60-40 rear seats. There’s ISOFIX points on both rear outermost seats and the rear doors have a nice wide opening.
Living with it
It’s affordable to run, great fun to drive and offers space for family adventures. Step up to the ‘3’ model to get a reversing camera and faux leather upholstery. ‘4’ models have heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
