kia soul ev
With a range of up to 280 miles on a single charge and a powerful electric motor, the all-new Kia Soul EV is made to move you and keep on going.
The 201bhp motor serves up traffic light grand prix dominance and the 64kWh battery provides plenty of range. Cycle through four drive modes (Normal, Sport, Eco, Eco+) and let the silent, refined motor serve up fun and efficiency in one go.
Inside, there’s a gorgeous 10.25” touchscreen, a head-up display, wireless charging, adaptive cruise control, lane follow assist, black leather upholstery and a 10-speaker Harmon Kardon premium stereo system in ‘First Edition’ specification (this is the only trim level available in the UK, so everything comes as standard). Yippee!
There is nothing else quite like the Soul EV. Its narrow full LED headlights, boxy roofline, C shaped rear light bar and SUV-like stance give it a real sense of uniqueness. Leather heated front seats and a heated steering wheel come as standard.
The Soul EV is powered by a 64kWh battery. The battery powers an electric motor with 201bhp and 395Nm of torque. The drive is refined, near silent and smooth. Adaptive cruise control and lane follow assist are standard features for easy cruising.
The 315-litre boot is plenty for a monthly shopping trip or weekend away. There’s handy storage for the charging cable in the boot, and if you have young children, there are ISOFIX child seat mounting points on both rear outermost seats.
Living with it
Charging from 0-80% takes 54 minutes at a 100kW station or around 1 hour 15 minutes at a 50kW station. A 50% boost at a 100kW station will take a little less than 30 minutes. The running costs are very low, with a full charge costing between £5 and £9.
